What is a SIAM Student Chapter?

A SIAM Student Chapter is a student organization affiliated with the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). Its purpose is to foster interdisciplinary participation among students and promote computational science through scientific and educational events on cutting-edge topics in applied mathematics.

Student Chapters also promote student participation in SIAM activities and conferences, support the professional development of student members, and connect students with the wider scientific and professional community.

Join UNISA Student Chapter

Joining the University of Salerno SIAM Student Chapter requires three main steps. Please follow the procedure below and refer to our detailed guide for complete instructions.

Step 1

Create your SIAM Account

Visit the official SIAM website and create your personal SIAM account by providing the required information.

Step 2

Join the UNISA SIAM Student Chapter

Once your SIAM account has been created, request membership in the University of Salerno Student Chapter and complete the SIAM membership procedure.

At the end of the procedure, retrieve your SIAM ID (Member Number). You will need it to complete Step 3.

Confirm your registration

After completing the SIAM membership procedure, fill in the UNISA SIAM Student Chapter registration form to confirm your membership.

Your SIAM ID (Member Number) is required to complete the form.

Be part of the italian community of industrial and applied mathematics!

SIMAI

Join SIMAI (Società Italiana di Matematica Applicata e Industriale) and become part of the Italian community of applied and industrial mathematics, connecting students, PhD students, researchers, and professionals. SIMAI membership has an annual fee of €20 for students and €28 for PhD students. Membership fees directly contribute to supporting the Society's activities, including events and initiatives for young mathematicians, student and PhD activities, awards and prizes, and opportunities for networking and professional development. By joining SIMAI, you are not only becoming part of a scientific community: you are also helping us create new opportunities for students and young researchers.

Connecting the University of Salerno SIAM Student Chapter with the Italian community of young researchers in applied and industrial mathematics.

Y-SIMAI – Young SIMAI

Y-SIMAI is the young researchers' committee of the Italian Society for Applied and Industrial Mathematics (SIMAI). The initiative promotes connections among young researchers in applied, industrial, and computational mathematics across Italy.

The University of Salerno SIAM Student Chapter is part of this broader national network. Chapter members Samira Iscaro and Carmine Valentino are members of Y-SIMAI, contributing to scientific exchange, networking, and collaboration among young researchers.
